Proxy season sees 'target dissent'

Board accountability is a big issue in the UK'2026 proxy season so far, while shareholders appear to be "targeting" their dissent, rather than fostering widespread rebellion, according to a new report. Minerva Analytics, an adviser to shareholders, identified BP and Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust as examples where shareholders made board accountability the "clearest pressure point of the season". Thomas Bolger, stewardship lead says this year's proxy season was defined by "target and consequential dissent".
